<span style="font-size:12pt"><span style="line-height:14pt"><span new="" roman="" style="font-family:" times=""><b><i><span style="font-size:10.0pt"><span style="color:blue">Case Presentation</span></span></i></b><i><span style="font-size:10.0pt"><span style="color:blue">:</span></span></i> <span style="font-size:10.0pt">We report a patient with long standing diabetes mellitus (DM) who presented with respiratory failure requiring mechanical ventilation. He was subsequently found to have reduced phrenic nerve and diaphragm compound action potential amplitude bilaterally on nerve conduction studies.</span><i><span style="font-size:10.0pt"></span></i></span></span></span><br>
